Vector graphics:
Vector graphics consist of
anchored dots and are connected by lines and curves. Due to the graphics are not
based on pixels, they are known as resolution-independent, which makes them
infinitely scalable. Their lines are sharp, it would not have any loss in
quality, regardless of the size. The graphics are device-independent at which
their quality does not depend on the number of pixels on a screen.
The scalability of the vector
makes it ideal for designing a work at which consists of logos and icons. Both
logos and icons require vast details and many size options, it is usually depending
on the application
Raster images:
Raster images are made of
pixels, tiny dots that use colour and tone to produce the image. Pixels will
look like tiny squares when the image is zoomed in or enlarged. For each image,
it can only contain a fixed number of pixels and the amount of it determines the
quality of the image, also known as resolution. More pixels will result in better quality.
Raster images are used in
photography and digital applications. When a picture is taken either from a
phone or a camera, the image is registered as pixel data, and when the images
are uploaded online, it will result in a raster image.
